Week 3 of the 52 Weeks Project

This week has been full of babysitting, the Parkberry mouse, bad karaoke singing, Jersey Shore Blingo, friends, dancing, capturing it all on video, reorganizing, my mom joining Facebook, Quelf, dinner_crue, thinking about the trip to Tennessee, and wanting to blog and just never getting it together.

One Time Too Many

I already posted Part 1 of these videos, but I just went back and re-watched them. It makes me want to go back to Paris so badly, and one day I will.

Phoenix – Lizstomania / One time too many – A Take Away Show from La Blogotheque on Vimeo.

Make sure you watch Part 3 too!

Emo girl

I’m fairly certain they are all different girls, but I could be entirely wrong.

Quelfing

bringonthetragedy:

So, who here has played the party/board game Quelf?

We decided to break this game out on Tuesday for our traditional taco night. After a few beers and a belly full of tacos, this game took on a life of its own. The goal of the game? To make you do as many ridiculous and embarrassing things as humanly possible.

Observe:

- Bill and I have been instructed to make sculptures of a cobra snake out of pieces of paper – to be judged by the game players. I lost and was called an “ad man”.

- Dave (in the white button-up) has been instructed that he’s not allowed to stop laughing until his next turn, which took a solid 15 minutes.

- Karen has been instructed that she must keep her left hand submerged in a bowl of water until her next turn which also took about 15 minutes.

- Bill has been instructed to insert the word “bleeping” randomly into his sentences.

This is definitely the weirdest game I have ever played.

I agree with Phil, it’s weird but oh so fun. If you would like to see more videos, including one of Ian and Bill playing patty cake and the “wine down” incident please go here. Also anyone up for game night?

Choose your own adventure

Thanks to Tony over at RVA Mag for showing me this cool video. It’s a PSA from the UK about stabbing (I suppose there’s a problem with this over there?) but the video is set up for you to choose your own adventure. As you go through the actions you get to pick what you are going to do. As Tony pointed out this could be really great used in shorts and other videos around the internet.

The Masquerade Ball

This past weekend was the big birthday Masquerade ball at Cous Cous. It was so amazing. For one Cous Cous really went above and beyond, giving us free champagne, letting Robot E. Lee DJ for us, letting us play a movie we wanted, generally just being awesome for us. I really do appreciate this and mostly just solidified my love for that place. All of our friends came out and everyone really got into the whole mask thing. By the day of the party Premiere Costumes in Carytown was familiar with the “birthday party” and we’re asking people coming in if that’s what they were there for. Phil Bowne was also there and captured the night in images, making me wonder if we traveled to a distant romantical land.

For the full set go here. (You will need a Facebook account, I’ll see if Phil can post them somewhere else as well.)

Thank you to everyone who came out and partied with us, I can’t express how much I love you guys.
